Signature Club Resort is the newest addition to the long list of Resorts Bangalore has to offer! It is set within the Brigade Orchards – a 130 acre township in Devanahalli. When Brigade Orchards is just 10 kms away from the Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL), it’s all the more the preferred destination. The luxurious villas, world class sports arenas, on-campus health facilities, an Arts Village, Retail outlets, Schools and Offices are some of the features of the Smart township. Amidst all of this is a pure gem – Signature Club Resort, a fabulous new Club that boasts of a brilliant recreation facilities, banquet halls, luxurious stay options and several dining options 🙂

On a fine Saturday morning, I headed to the Signature Club Resort for a green carpet experience! As I entered the property, I could notice the lush green lawns and trees. I was hooked! When I entered, along with a few other social media influencers, I was greeted with a warm welcome and a cool beverage on a rather surprisingly sunny day 🙂

The reception are is pretty cool. It’s got the pool right next to it 🙂
They have 45 well-appointed rooms, over 15K sq.ft of banqueting space with lush green lawns!

The greenery only continues seamlessly within the Club premises. There are a lot of private areas where one can sit on the lawns and have a peaceful conversation!

After a small registration process, we were handed our room keys and off we went to rest for a while after an early morning journey!!
The hallway is long and it’s tough to spot your room unless you actually take a close look at the door! Anyway, the door design is very elegant.

The rooms were plush, with all the amenities that one can expect from a 5-star hotel. A king size bed, decent sized balcony overlooking the pool window, a flat screen Television, work desk and a cupboard to hang your clothes while you rest!

TAMARIND Restaurant

After we freshened up, we headed to this multi-cuisine restaurant by the name Tamarind. It is located on the first floor and it was easy to get here as our rooms were also on the same floor! It is an all day restaurant, that also serves an amazing spread for Sunday brunches. What we got to see was Indian, Middle Eastern and Continental cuisines.

The decor here is very minimalistic. No-nonsense classic wooden furniture does the job of keeping it simple and tidy!

Our lunch started with a soup that seemed to have a bit too much of a soy sauce. Without that, it tasted pretty good and strong, awakening all my taste buds!

I ordered a Virgin Mary drink which had a salt rub on the rim of the glass. I loved the drink and asked for another one!

Then followed some well presented appetizers like the Paneer Tikka, Chicken Tikka, Fish Balls, Lamb in Pita pockets, chicken quiche and Chilly Prawns.

My personal favorite in vegetarian was the paneer tikka, it was soft, well marinated with the perfect spice levels and Chilly Prawns in non-vegetarian! The chicken quiche was a well crafted dish too 🙂

The main course was a very simple one at that! We had some Chicken Biriyani, Veg Pulao , Gobi Pepper fry , Palak Paneer, Chicken Tikka Masala. The main course menu handpicked by the Chef was primarily Indian.

The highlight of the lunch was the dessert and the Chef saved the best for the last! The dessert that we had was the Chocolate Fudge Brownie with icecream. The two items was a match made in heaven. They initially served a butterscotch icecream. That wasn’t really the best flavor as we needed to neutralize the already sweet brownie with something very subtle like the vanilla. I asked the staff to get me one scoop of vanilla instead! That wait of 4 minutes felt like an hour! I couldn’t let the brownie just sit there pleading to be decimated 🙂

Recreation

The Signature Club Resort lets you decide how you’d want to spend your day; Hectic Sport vs Lazy Entertainment. I had a sportsperson friend along with me( Nameesh ), who along with me, played every single sport that Signature Club has to offer! We played a game of lawn tennis, which is the one of the most challenging sports. I was surprised to see superb HEAD racquets. You’d normally see some low quality racquets in other resorts, but here it’s pretty much premium! We then played some Badminton. There are 2 wooden courts and the quality of the courts is top-notch! Can’t say the same for the quality of the badminton racquets, Artengo ones from Decathlon, but hey, they were in mint condition 🙂

We then moved to the table tennis room which felt a bit under-lit. The tables were again of top quality and this time the TT bats were of premium brand! We had a lovely game of table tennis. I lay emphasis on the racquets/bats provided here, because let’s face it, our experience of the game solely depends on the quality of the equipment 🙂 When we decide to play the sport in clubs, we take our own equipment that’s pretty high end and when we head to resorts like these, we expect them to be decent 🙂 I was super happy with the equipment here! The last sport we played was Squash. I’ve played some squash in the past, and I was eager to get going! After a very hectic, rather non-stop 2 hours of sports, we head back to our respective rooms to take a break!

There’s also a beautiful, long pool to unwind!

If that list wasn’t long enough, you could hit the gymnasium to lose some calories you gained from that heavy lunch!

Courtyard Cafe

Courtyard Cafe is alfresco style cafe that offers short eats, desserts and refreshing hot & cold beverages throughout the day.

After the grueling sporting session, we freshened up to have a session with the Chef of Courtyard Cafe. Chef pulled together all the elements of a cake and put them together in front of us! Since it was around the time when Rio Olympics was on-going, Chef thought it would be best to create a cake that resembles the five Olympic rings! It’s surprising how the Chef paid attention to detail and made sure the colors were spot on and were the same as the Olympic rings! The chocolate rings were of high quality and crisp!

While we waited for the Chef to prepare the cake, we sipped some hot tea along with some hot Onion Pakodas and French Fries. It was a perfect evening spent at this cafe, which is outdoor and overlooking the lawn, perfect for evening time! There also were some strawberry cheesecakes, that were delightful 🙂

Service

The staff at Signature Club Resort were always on their toes to help us get everything we needed. For instance, when I requested for tennis racquets, they walked a good 400m with me to hand that over to me and making sure I don’t walk alone, instead of just handing it over to me. There was a person who heads the Sports facilities and he was always there to help us with everything. The staff at the restaurants were attentive to our needs and were courteous!

It was time for us to leave the property and I wished I could stay back for another day, but it was a well spent Saturday and If I ever get a chance to head of out the city for a day, I now know where to head to 🙂
